night live," you may have lost america. the hits on obamacare, they keep coming. and kathleen sebelius keeps testifying and the problems are revealed. first one, the obamacare website still not working this morning, it crashed totally yet again last night and in all 50 states, nobody can sign up. according to verizon, the crash is being blamed 0 a network failure and a troubling sign. the vast majority of people who successfully signed up are using the website to get medicaid, look at kentucky, out of 20,000 new enrollees 82% from were medicaid and 87% signed up for medicaid and the list goes on. this means that people are signing up for free health care and if young, healthy people are not getting private plans and putting their money into the system, obamacare collapses. and we have the list of democrats urging an extension of open enrollment growing, fast. ten senators signed a letter to the president pushing for extension beyond march the 31st, and all that this monday morning, and it's not just obamacare in the news though, i've got 30 seconds worth of climate change headlines for

of the many issues expected to come up this morning when health and human services secretary kathleen sebelius testifies at a house committee hearing. nancy cordes is on capitol hill. good morning to you. >> good morning. she was asked to testify last week but she said she did not have time. the questions have only piled up since then. republican lawmakers want to know why she and other officials appeared to be so surprised with problems of the website when they had gotten warnings about it in advance. according to her prepared testimony, the secretary of health and human services will cast blame for obama care's bumpy rollout on the subset of contractors that we depend on. marilyn tavenner who oversees the agency that was contracted said it appears to be ready to go. >> was there any sense at all that there was going to be problems with the website? >> there are always going to be issues with the website, what i would call customary glitches, but, no, not this. >> they told lawmakers last week they informed them two weeks before that the volume had crashed the website and three weeks before t
. just after kathleen sebelius praised it as a model of sufficiency and security. that malfunction was fixed, but it is the tip of the proverbial iceberg and no one is taking responsibility for all that has gone wrong with the website. the question is -- and there must be an answer to this at some point -- where does the buck stop? it would seem like an easy question to answer. but how did it go so wrong sno. >> it would seem that way. we know this. the obama care girl who was on the cover here, smiling young woman, has disappeared. we don't know why. maybe she's not smiling amid all these problems, but it's just as well. because too many people were involved with this from the start. that's what we're learning. how did this go so wrong? in a perfect world most agree that it should have gone like this. president obama would have outlined some goals. kathleen sebelius would come up with a plan to reach those goals. an agency, in this case, the centers for medicaid and medicare centers would hire computer services to make it happen. and voila, there is your fully functioning website.
